Flexible duct connectors (compensators) are used in HVAC systems for isolation from structure-borne noise, expansion compensation and fire damper connections (for smoke extraction ducts acc. to DIN V 1832-6 see "XDuct - smoke extraction duct")

Depending on the application, different coated types of textile fabric are used as prefabricated steel sheet/fabric/steel sheet stripes or elements without sheet metal enclosure. Cut-to-size stripes are shaped to form square or round cross sections and fitted with connecting frames for the components to be connected. Joints of the flexible material are glued, sewed or welded depending on the type of the base material.
